  • sugar
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • chopped nuts - 1/2 c
  • flour - 2 c
  • brown sugar - 1/2 c
  • soda - 2 tsp
  • white sugar - 3/4 c
  • eggs, unbeaten - 2 item
  • can fruit cocktail - 1 item
  • condensed milk - 1/2 c
  • can Angel Flake coconut - 1 item
  • Stir until blended

How to make fruit cocktail cake:

Combine sugar, soda, flour and salt. Stir until blended. Add eggs and fruit cocktail. Stir by hand until well mixed. Pour batter into greased and floured 9 x 12-inch pan. Over top sprinkle brown sugar and chopped nuts. Bake 40 to 45 minutes in a 325° oven.Icing:1 stick margarine3/4 c. white sugar1/2 c. condensed milk1 can Angel Flake coconut1 tsp. vanilla Bring to a boil margarine, sugar and milk; cook 10 minutes or until thick, stirring constantly. Add coconut and vanilla. Pour immediately over the hot cake when taken from the oven.
