Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1/2 c
- flour - 2 c
- evaporated milk - 3/4 c
- coconut - 1/2 c
- soda - 2 tsp
- pinch of salt - 1 item
- eggs, lightly beaten - 2 item
- Topping:1 stick margarine
- can fruit cocktail, undrained - 1 item
How to make fruit cocktail cake:
Topping:1 stick margarine3/4 c. sugar3/4 c. evaporated milk1/2 c. chopped nuts1/2 c. coconut1 tsp. vanilla Combine flour, sugar, soda and salt in large mixing bowl. Add eggs and fruit cocktail to dry ingredients. Blend until all flour is moist. Pour into 13 x 9-inch greased pan. Bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes.Topping: Boil sugar, margarine and evaporated milk slowly for 10 minutes. Remove from heat; add nuts, coconut and vanilla. Pour over cake while warm.
