  • 9-inch baked pie shell
  • sugar - 1 c
  • lemon juice - 2 tsp
  • fresh strawberries - 3 pt
  • cornstarch - 3 Tbsp
  • whipped cream - 1 c

How to make fresh strawberry pie:

Wash and hull strawberries. Remove half (the best looking ones) and mash the rest. Add sugar and cornstarch. Mix well and cook 5 minutes, stirring constantly, until thickened and clear. Stir in lemon juice. Cool. Add the remaining strawberries, saving 6 for garnish. Pour into the pie shell and chill. Before serving, top with the whipped cream and garnish with the remaining 6 strawberries.
