Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- chopped pecans - 1 c
- pkg - 1 oz
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- cooking oil - 1 c
- margarine - 1/2 c
- eggs, well beaten - 3 item
- ground cinnamon - 1 tsp
- ground nutmeg - 1 tsp
- Beat in eggs
- chopped, peeled Delicious apples - 4 c
- ground pecans optional - 1 c
How to make fresh apple cake:
Combine oil and sugar. Beat in eggs. Sift together dry ingredients; add to egg mixture. Fold in vanilla, apples and pecans. Bake in a 9 x 13-inch pan at 325° for 55 minutes. Cool; ice cake with Vanilla Cream Cheese Icing. Cake will keep moist and fresh for days. Serves 12.Vanilla Cream Cheese Icing:1 box confectioners sugar1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese1/2 c. margarine2 tsp. vanilla1 c. chopped pecans Have all ingredients at room temperature.
