Ingredients/Components
- water - 2 qt
- lemon juice - 1/4 c
- can stewed tomatoes - 1 oz
- garlic clove, minced - 1 item
- large yellow onion, chopped - 1 item
- can chopped green chiles - 1 oz
- bag 15 bean mix throw away ham flavoring packet - 1 lb
How to make french market soup:
Wash beans; place in large pot. Add water to cover 2 inches above beans. Soak overnight. Drain. Add 2 quarts water and remaining ingredients, breaking tomatoes up with a fork. Bring to a boil; reduce the heat. Cover; simmer 2 to 4 hours, depending on how "mushy" you like beans. Makes 6 to 8 servings.Recipe categories: Weeknight, Soups & stews, Beans.
