  • sugar
  • vanilla - 1 Tbsp
  • milk - 2 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 6 c
  • baking powder
  • shortening - 2 sticks
  • beaten eggs - 5 item

How to make french coffee cake:

Cream together sugar, salt, shortening and vanilla. Add gradually in small amounts a portion of the liquid alternately with the flour. Add eggs and mix until smooth. The sides of the bowl should be scraped down occasionally to insure a uniform batter. Pour into 9 x 13-inch greased pan.
