  • sugar - 1 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • water - 1/4 c
  • vinegar
  • shredded carrot - 1/2 c
  • small onion, chopped - 1 item
  • celery seed - 1/2 tsp
  • green pepper - 1/2 item
  • mustard seed - 1/2 tsp
  • medium head cabbage - 1 item

How to make freezer coleslaw:

Dressing:1 c. vinegar1 c. sugar1/4 c. water1 tsp. salt1/2 tsp. celery seed1/2 tsp. mustard seed In large bowl, combine first 5 ingredients. Let stand 1 hour. Drain. Bring all dressing ingredients to boil. Simmer 2 or 3 minutes. Cool; pour over cabbage. Pack in freezer containers. Freeze. Yields about 4 pints.
