Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 to
- salt - 1 tsp
- water - 1/4 c
- vinegar - 1 c
- small onion, chopped - 1 item
- celery seed - 1 tsp
- mustard seed - 1 tsp
- medium head cabbage - 1 item
- carrot, grated - 1 item
- sweet pepper, chopped - 1 item
How to make frozen cole slaw:
Grate cabbage. Add salt and let stand for 1 hour. Squeeze juice out. Add carrot, pepper and onion. Make a syrup of vinegar, water and sugar. Add mustard and celery seed. Boil 1 minute. Pour over cabbage and mix well. Put in containers and freeze. This slaw can be refrozen several times. Do not use blender.Recipe categories: Salads, Vegetables, Northeastern U.S..
