Foolproof pie crust
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 Tbsp
- salt - 2 tsp
- water - 1/2 c
- egg - 1 item
- vinegar - 1 Tbsp
- shortening
- all-purpose flour - 4 c
How to make foolproof pie crust:
With a fork, mix together first four ingredients. In separate cup, mix next three ingredients. Combine the two mixtures, stirring with fork, until all ingredients are moistened, then with hands, shape into a ball. Chill at least 15 minutes before rolling into shape. Dough can be left in refrigerator up to 3 days or frozen until ready to use. Makes 2 double crusts and 1 shell. This dough is easy to handle.Recipe categories: Desserts, Pie, Pies and tarts.
