Fluffy strawberry pie
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/3 c
- pkg - 1 oz
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- eggs, separated - 2 item
- water - 1/4 c
- lemon juice - 1 Tbsp
- small can Pet evaporated milk - 1 item
- graham cracker pie crusts - 2 item
How to make fluffy strawberry pie:
Chill the can of evaporated milk for 1 hour. Beat egg yolks and combine in a heavy 1-quart saucepan with strawberries, water, sugar, salt and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a full, all-over boil. Remove from heat and add Jell-O, stirring until dissolved. Chill until mixture is thick but not set. Beat egg whites until stiff; set aside. Beat evaporated milk until stiff. Combine with egg whites and fold into the chilled strawberry mixture.
