Fluffy dumplings
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- baking powder - 3 tsp
- shortening - 1/4 c
- sifted flour - 2 c
How to make fluffy dumplings:
Sift flour, baking powder and salt together in a bowl. Cut in shortening until coarse. Lightly mix in milk with fork to make a soft dough. Stir as little as possible. Drop tablespoonfuls of dough into broth. Cook 10 minutes, uncovered, then cover tightly and simmer 10 minutes longer.Recipe categories: Egg, Condiments, etc., Garnishes.
