eggs - 3 item
salt - 1 item
flour - 4 c
brown sugar - 1 c
hot water - 1 c
melted shortening - 1 c
c white sugar - 1 item
tsp vanilla - 1 item
Tbsp flour - 2 item
tsp soda - 1 item
Tbsp hot water - 1 item
Add beaten eggs

How to make filled cookies:

Cream sugar and shortening. Add beaten eggs. Dissolve soda in the hot water and add to the mixture with salt and vanilla. Add flour. Roll dough quite thin. Cut with cookie cutter. Put filling in one cookie and cover with another. Seal edges with fork and prick top several times.Filling:1 c. dates or raisins2 Tbsp flour1/2 tsp vanilla1 c. brown sugar1 c. hot water Mix filling in order given. Boil till thick. Bake cookies at 375°.
