Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 3/4 c
  • cinnamon
  • vanilla - 1/4 tsp
  • milk
  • salt - 3/4 tsp
  • flour - 3 c
  • melted margarine - 2 Tbsp
  • baking powder
  • powdered sugar - 1/2 c
  • cube margarine - 1 item
  • peeled, chopped apples - 3 4

How to make easy apple strudel:

Combine flour, powder and salt. Cut in margarine until mixture resembles coarse cornmeal. Add milk. Stir until blended. Knead gently 12 times. Roll dough (about 1/4-inch thick) into a rectangle. Brush with melted margarine.

Meanwhile, mix together apples, sugar and cinnamon. Spread over dough. Roll as for jelly roll. Seal ends. Place on ungreased baking sheet in the shape of a crescent. Bake about 15 minutes at 400° until lightly golden colored. Cool about 5 minutes. Combine powdered sugar, milk and vanilla. Drizzle over partially cooled strudel. Slice to serve.
