How to make dream bars:
Cook sugar, milk and egg until thick, stirring to prevent burning. Add vanilla, margarine and coconut. Line 9 x 13-inch pan with graham crackers. (I use scissors to cut them to fit, so pan is filled to edges.) Spread cooked mixture on crackers and add another layer of crackers. Frost with powdered sugar, thinned with lemon juice to make it spreadable. I use a drop of food coloring to tint the frosting. Cut them into finger-sized bars, about 1/2-inch by 1 1/2-inches. Don't cut them too soon, the crackers need to soften from the filling or they will crack on the cracker lines. When I give recipes away, I ask that you pray for me whenever you use the recipe! I've had many requests for this. The different feature is that they are unbaked so they're good to make in hot weather. (I use 1/2 to 3/4 cup of sugar instead of the amount the recipe specifies.)
