Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 3/4 tsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- vegetable shortening - 1/2 c
- sifted cake flour - 2 c
- chocolate, melted - 2 3
How to make devil's food cake:
Sift dry ingredients together. Cream shortening. Add sugar gradually and cream together until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Add chocolate. Add flour alternately with milk, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla. Turn into two 9-inch pans lined on bottom with wax paper. Bake in 350° oven approximately 30 minutes.
