Ingredients/Components
- flour - 1 item
- water - 1 item
- soy sauce - 1 c
- medium onion, diced - 1 item
- medium potatoes, peeled and cubed - 5 item
- carrots, peeled and cut in pieces - 5 item
- deer meat, cut in cubes - 1 2
- inch oil - 1 item
How to make deer stew:
Marinate meat in soy sauce for about 1 hour. Save soy sauce for later. Flour meat and brown in 1 inch of oil; drain on paper towel. Put browned meat in stew pot or Dutch oven. Add soy sauce and vegetables and fill pot with enough water to have about 2 or 3 inches above the ingredients. Cook slowly, stirring about every 10 minutes, until vegetables are tender. Pepper to taste. Stew should get thick like gravy. Serve with crackers. Serves about 4 to 6.Tastes like roast beef.
