  • vanilla extract
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  • all-purpose flour - 3/4 c
  • plus 1 Tbsp - 1/2 c
  • butter or margarine, melted - 3/4 c
  • semi-sweet chocolate bits - 1 c

How to make deep dish brownies:

Preheat oven to 350°. Grease an 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan.

In medium mixing bowl, blend melted butter, sugar and vanilla. Add eggs. Beat well with spoon. Combine flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt. Gradually add to egg mixture, beating until well blended. Stir in chocolate chips. Spread into prepared pan. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan. Cool completely. Cut into 16 squares. Best served cold. Makes 16 servings.
