Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 c
  • flour
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • boiling water - 1 c
  • shortening
  • walnuts - 1/2 c
  • dates - 1 c

How to make date pudding:

Mixture Two:1/4 c. shortening1 c. sugar1 1/2 c. flour1/2 c. walnuts Pour 1 c. boiling water over pitted and cut dates. Add soda to this mixture just before adding Mixture One to Mixture Two. Cream shortening and sugar together. Add flour and date mixture together. Add nuts. Pour in floured 8x10 pan. Bake at 350° for 20-25 minutes. Serve cold with whipped cream.
