Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • cornstarch - 5 Tbsp
  • cold water - 1/2 c
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • ground beef
  • small diced onion - 1 item
  • whole milk - 1 qt
  • fresh garlic or garlic powder to taste if desired, optional - 1 item

How to make creamed beef on toast:

In 10-inch frypan, combine beef, salt, pepper and onion. Cook until done. Drain well. Return to frypan and add milk. Bring mixture to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes, stirring as needed to avoid sticking.

In a separate container, mix cornstarch and cold water. Stir until dissolved. Add cornstarch mixture to beef mixture. Stir well and simmer for 10 additional minutes. Remove from heat and serve over toast.

Serving Suggestions: Breakfast or Brunch item. Serve over toast with eggs (prepared favorite way), hot cakes and hot maple syrup.
