  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • cornstarch - 2 Tbsp
  • cold water - 2 Tbsp
  • pepper - 1/8 tsp
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • grated Parmesan cheese - 1 item
  • chopped onion - 1 c
  • cloves garlic, minced - 2 item
  • chili powder - 1/2 tsp
  • can tomatoes, cut up - 1 oz
  • chopped green pepper - 3/4 c
  • ground beef - 1 lb
  • cans tomato paste - 2 oz
  • can sliced mushrooms - 1 oz
  • bay leaves - 3 item
  • Burgundy - 1/2 c
  • sliced pimiento-stuffed green olives - 1/2 c
  • bulk Italian sausage - 1/2 lb
  • hot cooked spaghetti - 1 item

How to make spaghetti sauce italiano:

In skillet, brown ground beef and sausage; drain off fat. Stir in undrained tomatoes, tomato paste, mushrooms, onion, green pepper, Burgundy, olives, bay leaves, garlic, Worcestershire, sugar, chili powder, salt and pepper. If too thick for your preference, add 1/3 cup water. Simmer until ready to eat. Blend water slowly into cornstarch; stir into tomato mixture. Cook until thickened. Serve over spaghetti; pass the Parmesan. Serves 8 to 10.

This can be prepared in a crock-pot. Cook on high for 5 to 6 hours.
