Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- pkg - 1 oz
- flour
- almond extract - 1/4 tsp
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- butter or margarine, softened - 1 c
How to make cream cheese cutout cookies:
Beat butter and cream cheese with electric mixer for 30 seconds. Add sugar; beat until fluffy. Add egg, vanilla and almond extract. Beat well. Stir together flour and baking powder. Gradually add dry ingredients to creamed mixture, beating well. Divide dough into thirds (about 2 cups each). Cover and chill overnight. Or place in plastic freezer bags and freeze up to 3 months.Roll chilled or thawed dough 1/4 inch thick. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a 375° oven for 6 to 8 minutes or until very light brown around edges. Cool on wire rack. Ice and decorate as desired.
