How to make cranberry jello salad:
In a medium bowl, dissolve the Jell-O in boiling water. Allow to cool. Peel and shred the apples. Add to Jell-O along with pecans and cranberry sauce. Pour into a 9 x 13-inch glass pan. Refrigerate until firm. Blend together Cool Whip, cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Add vanilla and pineapple. Spread evenly over Jell-O mixture.
