Ingredients/Components

  • sugar
  • flour - 1/4 c
  • butter - 1/4 c
  • cranberries - 2 c
  • orange rind, grated optional - 1 Tbsp
  • pitted prunes, snipped - 2/3 c
  • corn flakes, crushed medium fine - 2 c
  • or more walnuts, chopped - 1/4 c
  • whipped cream or Cool Whip for topping - 1 item

How to make cranberry crumble:

Put 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water in saucepan and bring to boil. Add cranberries and cook until berries burst. Add orange rind and prunes and pour into shallow 1 1/2-quart baking dish.

Put remaining sugar and flour in bowl and cut in butter. Add corn flakes and nuts and mix. Sprinkle on top of fruit mixture and bake in 350° oven about 45 minutes. Serve warm or cold with topping. Yields 6 servings.
