  • shortening - 1 c
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • white sugar - 1 c
  • Rice Krispies - 2 c
  • oatmeal - 2 c
  • eggs, beaten - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • flour
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • coconut - 1 c
  • chopped nuts - 1 c

How to make cracker jack cookies:

Cream shortening and sugar. Add Rice Krispies, oatmeal, eggs and vanilla. Sift flour with baking powder and soda; stir into first mixture. Add coconut and nuts. Drop by teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350° for 12 to 15 minutes.
