Ingredients/Components

  • grated Parmesan cheese - 2 tsp
  • chopped fresh parsley - 2 Tbsp
  • Dijon mustard - 1 Tbsp
  • fresh lime juice - 1 Tbsp
  • chopped fresh chives - 1 Tbsp
  • no-fat mayonnaise - 4 Tbsp
  • lump crabmeat - 8 oz
  • to 5 drops hot pepper sauce - 4 item
  • party-size Italian bread, cut in 16 slices* - 4 oz

How to make crab crostini:

* Could also use 4 large slices of Italian bread and make it a main dish.

This recipe can serve 8 as an appetizer or 4 as a main dish depending on the size of the bread that it is spread on.

Preheat the broiler. Line a broiler pan with foil. Pick over the crabmeat to remove cartilage and orange lumps of fat and shell. In a medium bowl, combine crabmeat, bell pepper, mayonnaise, parsley, chives, lime juice, mustard, Parmesan cheese and hot pepper sauce; blend well. Spread on bread. Place the Crostini on a broiler pan and broil 4 inches from the heat for 5 to 6 minutes, or until lightly browned. Can be prepared ahead and placed in refrigerator for a quick last minute appetizer or supper dish.
