  • sugar - 1/4 c
  • milk - 2 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour
  • oil - 1/2 c
  • baking powder - 4 tsp
  • warm water - 1/2 c
  • dry yeast - 1 pkg

How to make cowboy biscuits:

Mix dry ingredients. Dissolve yeast in water. Add milk and oil. Add to dry ingredients, mix well. Work into a ball and let rise. Roll out. Cut into biscuits and bake at 400°. Can be refrigerated for several days.

Note: Buttermilk may be used instead of sweet milk; if so, add 1 teaspoon soda.
