- salt - 1/2 tsp
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- sifted flour
- margarine - 1 c
- chopped walnuts optional - 1 item
- bag semi-sweet chocolate chips - 1 (6
- box light brown sugar - 1 item
How to make congo bars:
Melt together margarine and brown sugar. Cool mixture to room temperature. Add eggs, one at a time, blending with margarine and sugar. Sift dry ingredients together. Add dry to wet mixture. Stir in chips and nuts. Pour into a greased 15 x 10 x 1-inch pan. Bake at 325° for 20 to 30 minutes. Toothpick check for last 5 minutes.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cookie and brownie, Bar cookie.
