Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 c
- eggs - 5 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 1 c
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- sticks butter - 2 item
- cake flour, sifted or plain flour - 3 c
- pineapple or lemon flavoring - 1 tsp
How to make cold oven pound cake:
Cream butter, sugar and shortening. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add flour and milk alternately. Add baking powder to last of flour. Add flavoring. Pour in greased and floured tube pan. Put into cold oven. Bake at 350° for 1 hour and 25 minutes. Do not open oven door until time is up.For chocolate cake, omit lemon flavoring and add 5 tablespoons cocoa.
