- vanilla - 1 tsp
- chopped pecans - 1 c

- milk - 1 c
- flour - 3 c
- cocoa - 1/2 c
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- powdered sugar - 1 lb
- red food coloring - 2 oz
- sticks butter - 2 item
- Add eggs, one at a time
How to make red velvet pound cake:
Cream butter, shortening and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Add dry ingredients and milk. Add food coloring and vanilla and beat. Bake at 300° for 1 1/2 hours. Use cream cheese icing to frost cake.Icing:1/2 c. butter, softened1 lb. powdered sugar1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese1 c. chopped pecans Combine butter and cream cheese until light and fluffy.
