  • sugar
  • eggs - 3 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 1 c
  • stick margarine - 1 item
  • pinch of salt - 1 item
  • Crisco - 2/3 c
  • flour, sifted
  • Add eggs and mix well
  • frozen coconut

How to make coconut cake:

Cream sugar and shortening together. Add eggs and mix well. Add milk and flour alternately. Add salt and flavoring. Mix well. Bake in greased and floured baking pans at 350° for 25 or 30 minutes or until done.Coconut Filling:2 to 2 1/2 c. sugar1 stick margarine2 1/2 c. milk1 tsp. vanilla2 small pkg. frozen coconut Cook sugar, margarine and milk over medium heat. This stays thin. Add coconut and cook a few more minutes. Stick holes in layers and spread icing on each layer and sides of cake.
