Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 1/2 c
- flour - 2 c
- butter - 2/3 c
- coconut - 1 pkg
- boiling water - 1/2 c
- large eggs - 4 item
- egg whites - 2 item
- light Karo syrup
- Blend, then add dry ingredients with milk and vanilla
How to make coconut cake:
Cream butter and sugar; add egg yolks. Blend, then add dry ingredients with milk and vanilla. Beat egg whites and put in. Bake at 375° for 20 to 25 minutes.Coconut Cake Frosting:1 1/2 c. sugar1 1/2 tsp. light Karo syrup1/2 c. boiling water2 egg whites1 tsp. vanilla1 pkg. coconut Mix sugar and water together along with Karo syrup. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat a little and stir until mixture forms a soft ball when dropped into cold water. Beat egg whites stiff. Pour into a fine stream over egg whites, beating as you pour your sugar mixture. Add vanilla and beat to cool. Frost cake and sprinkle coconut on top.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Egg.
