Ingredients/Components
- egg whites - 4 item
- sugar - 1 c
- dash salt - 1 item
- nuts - 1 c
- butter or margarine softened - 1/2 c
- Crisco shortening - 1 Tbsp
- cocoa - 5 6
- Cool Whip topping thawed - 1-1/2 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- chopped pecans - 1 item
- Add sugar and salt
How to make chocolate silk pie:
CRUST Beat egg whites. Add sugar and salt. Beat until peaks form. Fold in nuts. Put in a greased 10-inch pie pan. Bake slow for 1 hour at 300° and cool.FILLING Beat butter and shortening until smooth and creamy. Beat sugar gradually until fluffy. Mix sugar and cocoa well and add to butter mixture. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla. Beat in eggs, one at a time, beating 3 minutes after each addition. Spread filling in cool crust.
