  • margarine - 1/2 c
  • sugar
  • eggs - 3 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • flour, sifted - 2 c
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • cocoa - 1/2 c
  • water - 1 c
  • can sauerkraut, drained, rinsed and chopped fine - 1 item

How to make chocolate sauerkraut cake:

Cream margarine and sugar. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Add vanilla. Sift dry ingredients together. Add to mixture alternately with water. Beat well after each addition. Stir in sauerkraut.

Pour into greased and floured 13 x 9-inch baking pan. Bake in 350° oven for 40 minutes. Cool in pan. Frost with any favorite creamy chocolate frosting.
