Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3 c
- eggs - 5 item
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- milk
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- cocoa - 1/2 c
- sticks margarine - 2 item
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- box powdered sugar - 1 item
- sifted plain flour - 3 c
- milk as needed - 1 item
- Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each one
How to make chocolate pound cake:
Cream the sugar, shortening and margarine. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each one. Sift dry ingredients together 3 times. Alternately add milk and dry ingredients to sugar mixture. Add vanilla. Bake in greased tube pan at 325° for 1 hour and 20 to 30 minutes. Remove from pan immediately.Frosting:1 stick margarine2 or 3 Tbsp. cocoa1 box powdered sugar milk as needed Melt the margarine with the cocoa; let boil 1 minute. Add sugar.
