  • sugar - 3 c
  • eggs - 5 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 1 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • butter - 1/2 lb
  • cocoa - 4 Tbsp
  • baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  • plain flour - 3 c
  • Crisco - 1/2 c

How to make chocolate pound cake:

Cream together butter and Crisco. Add sugar and eggs, one at a time. Sift all dry ingredients together. Add vanilla. Add milk to creamed mixture. Bake in 9 or 10-inch tube pan at 325° for about 1 hour and 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
