Chocolate chip oatmeal cookies
Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- granulated sugar - 1/2 c
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- chocolate chips - 2 c
- all-purpose flour
- firmly packed brown sugar
- oatmeal
- salt optional - 1/2 tsp
- butter Crisco - 1 c
- coarsely chopped nuts optional - 1 c
- eggs * - 2 item
- milk * - 2 Tbsp
How to make chocolate chip oatmeal cookies:
Mix first 3 ingredients and beat on #7 or cream setting for 5 minutes. Add eggs, milk and vanilla. Beat 3 minutes on high. Combine flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg; mix well. Add oatmeal, chips and nuts; mix well.Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough onto ungreased cookie sheet. Cook at 375° for 9 to 10 minutes for chewy cookies or 12 to 13 minutes for crisp cookies. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet. Remove to wire rack. Makes about 5 dozen.
*You can add Egg Beaters and skim milk to cut down on cholesterol.
