  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • granulated sugar - 1/2 c
  • packed brown sugar - 1/2 c
  • semi-sweet chocolate chips - 1/2 c
  • egg - 1 item
  • shortening - 1/3 c
  • margarine, softened - 1/3 c

How to make chocolate chip cookies:

Heat oven to 375°. Mix sugar, margarine, shortening, egg and vanilla. Stir in remaining ingredients. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet, 2-inches apart. Bake until lightly brown, about 8 to 10 minutes.
