Chocolate angel pie
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1/8 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1/2 c
- evaporated milk - 1 c
- egg yolks - 2 item
- egg whites - 2 item
- plain flour - 4 Tbsp
- cream of tartar - 1/8 tsp
- chocolate - 1 sq
- Add sugar gradually
How to make chocolate angel pie:
Beat egg whites, salt and cream of tartar until foamy. Add sugar gradually. Continue beating until very stiff. Fold in nuts and vanilla. Turn into a greased pie plate, making a nest like shell building up sides above pan. Bake at 275° for 1 hour. Cool completely.Pie Filling:1 c. water1 c. evaporated milk2 egg yolks1/2 c. sugar4 Tbsp. plain flour1/4 tsp. salt1 tsp. vanilla1 sq. chocolate Cook in double boiler until thick, this is all ingredients except egg yolks.
