Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- cocoa - 1/4 c
- egg whites
- plain flour - 3/4 c
- cream of tartar - 1 tsp
How to make chocolate angel cake:
Sift flour and measure; add cocoa and sift twice. Beat egg whites and salt until foamy; add cream of tartar and continue beating until stiff and peaks form; add flavoring while beating. Fold in sugar a little at a time. Fold in flour and cocoa mixture in the same way. Pour batter into an ungreased tube pan. Drop pan 3 to 4 times from a height of 6 inches to remove air pockets. Bake 40 minutes at 350°. Remove from oven and invert pan onto a plate. Remove cake when cold.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Cake fillings and frostings.
