Chinese chicken salad
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- salt - 1 tsp
- vegetable oil - 1 c
- can chow mein noodles - 1 item
- sesame seed - 2 Tbsp
- black pepper - 1/2 tsp
- bunch green onions, chopped - 1 item
- white vinegar - 1/2 c
- medium green bell pepper, chopped - 1 item
- medium red bell pepper, chopped - 1 item
- medium yellow bell pepper, chopped - 1 item
- black pepper, if desired - 1 item
- or 4 cooked boneless chicken breasts, cut up - 3 item
- bite-size lettuce red and green leaf work best - 6 8
How to make chinese chicken salad:
Dressing:1/2 c. sugar1/2 c. white vinegar1 tsp. salt1/2 tsp. black pepper2 Tbsp. sesame seed1 c. vegetable oil In small bowl or shaker, dissolve sugar in vinegar. Add salt, pepper, sesame seed and oil. (Note: Mix dressing together a few hours before serving time and refrigerate. Double dressing recipe for more flavor.)Combine all salad ingredients. Just before serving time, add chow mein noodles and dressing and toss lightly.
Excellent when served alone or with Oriental Fried Rice.
