Ingredients/Components
- pkg - 10 oz
- chicken broth - 4 c
- chicken bouillon cubes - 4 item
- celery, thinly sliced - 1/2 c
- onion, thinly sliced - 1/2 c
- parsley, finely chopped - 1 Tbsp
- rice, cooked - 1/2 c
- canned tomatoes - 1/2 c
- green pepper, thinly sliced - 1/2 c
- corn, cooked - 1/2 c
- chicken, cooked, diced - 2 c
How to make chicken gumbo:
Add tomatoes, celery, green pepper, onion, parsley and bouillon cubes to chicken broth. Simmer 24 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Add chicken and okra; cook for 6 minutes longer. Add rice and corn. Heat and serve. Makes 6 servings, 1 cup each; 155 calories per serving.Recipe categories: Main dish, Gumbo, Stew.
