Chewy oatmeal cookies
Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1/4 tsp
- vanilla
- milk - 1/3 c
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- all-purpose flour - 1 c
- raisins - 1 c
- salt optional - 1/2 tsp
- firmly packed light brown sugar
- coarsely chopped walnuts - 1 c
- Quaker oats Quick or old fashioned, uncooked - 3 c
- butter flavor Crisco shortening - 3/4 c
How to make chewy oatmeal cookies:
Heat oven to 375°. Lightly grease baking sheet with butter flavor Crisco. Combine Crisco, brown sugar, egg, milk and vanilla in large bowl. Beat at medium speed until well blended.Combine oats, flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon. Mix into creamed mixture at low speed just until blended. Stir in raisins and nuts.
Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough 2 inches apart onto baking sheet. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool 2 minutes on cooling rack. Yields about 2 1/2 dozen cookies.
