- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 1 Tbsp
- butter - 1 Tbsp
- water - 1/4 c
- shortening - 3/4 c
- sifted flour
- fresh Colorado cherries, pitted - 2 c
- rich pastry pie crusts - 2 item
How to make cherry pie:
Rich Pastry Pie Crust:2 c. sifted flour1 tsp. salt3/4 c. shortening1/4 c. water Mix flour and sugar; then stir in with cherries. Pour into pastry shell; dot with butter and cover with pastry top. Bake slowly for 45 minutes in a 350° oven.Crust: Mix flour and salt; cut shortening into it until pieces are size of a bean. Mix well with water until dough comes together and can be shaped into a ball. Divide in 2 parts. Roll out crusts. Makes two 9-inch pie crusts.
