Orange-poppy seed bread

- sugar
- eggs - 3 item
- vanilla
- milk
- butter or margarine - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 3 c
- butter
- oil
- almond extract
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- powdered sugar - 3/4 c
- poppy seed
- orange juice
How to make orange-poppy seed bread:
Orange Glaze:1/4 c. orange juice3/4 c. powdered sugar1/2 tsp. vanilla1/2 tsp. almond extract1/2 tsp. butter or margarine Combine first 3 ingredients. Beat sugar and oil at medium speed with electric mixer 3 minutes. Add eggs and milk. Beat until blended. Add flour mixture. Beat until blended. Add poppy seeds and next 3 ingredients, beating until blended. Pour batter into 2 greased and floured 8 1/2 x 4 1/2-inch loaf pans. Bake at 325° for 45 minutes. Remove loaves from oven and pour glaze over top. Cool in pans on a wire rack. Remove from pans and serve. Yields 2 loaves.Glaze: Blend all at medium speed with mixer until sugar dissolves.
