Cheesy vegetable chowder
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 2 c
- flour - 1/4 c
- margarine
- paprika - 1 item
- clove garlic, minced - 1 item
- chicken broth
- mustard - 1 Tbsp
- onion, chopped - 1/2 c
- white pepper - 1 item
- celery, chopped - 1 c
- carrots, sliced - 3/4 c
- potatoes, cubed - 1 c
- can whole kernel corn - 1 item
- small jar pimento - 1 item
- grated cheese or 1/2 lb - 2 c
How to make cheesy vegetable chowder:
Sauce:1/4 c. margarine1/4 c. flour2 c. milk1 Tbsp. mustard white pepper paprika2 c. grated cheese (or 1/2 lb. Velveeta cheese) Simmer first 6 ingredients 15 to 20 minutes in a Dutch oven. Stir in corn and pimentos.Sauce: Melt margarine in a saucepan; add flour. Gradually add milk. Stir constantly. Add other ingredients and cook slowly until cheese melts. Add to vegetables. Do not boil!
