  • salt - 1 tsp
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • chopped onion - 1/4 c
  • can tomato sauce - 1 oz
  • ground beef - 1 lb
  • oregano - 1/2 tsp
  • green pepper, chopped - 1/4 c
  • shredded Cheddar cheese about 8 oz - 2 c
  • deep dish pie crust - 1 item
  • bottled chili sauce - 1/2 c
  • each: salt, dry mustard and Worcestershire sauce - 1/2 tsp
  • dry bread crust - 1/2 c
  • Cheese Topping following - 1 item
  • Prepare pastry for pie

How to make cheeseburger pie:

Heat oven to 425°. Prepare pastry for pie. In medium pan, cook and stir meat until brown. Drain off fat. Stir in oregano, salt, pepper, crumbs, 1/2 cup tomato sauce, onion and green pepper. Turn into pie crust. Spread cheese topping over filling. Bake about 30 minutes. Stir together remaining tomato sauce and the chili sauce. Serve with pie.Cheese Topping:1 egg1/2 tsp. each: salt, dry mustard and Worcestershire sauce2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese (about 8 oz.) Mix all ingredients together.
