Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- butter or oleo - 1/2 c
- grated cheese - 1 c
- cayenne pepper - 1/8 tsp
- sifted plain flour
How to make cheese straws:
Heat oven to 375°. Let butter come to room temperature. Cream butter and cheese together. Add salt and cayenne pepper and work in flour. Cover and chill about 1 hour. Roll out on lightly floured board about 1/8-inch thick. Cut in sticks with a sharp knife or pastry wheel, about 1/2-inch wide and 4-inches long. Place on ungreased baking sheet and bake 10 to 12 minutes. Makes 4 dozen.Recipe categories: Eggs/dairy, < 15 mins, Cheese.
