Ingredients/Components
- pkg - 1 oz
- vanilla extract
- can Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk not evaporated milk - 1 oz
- sugar for caramel - 1 c
- large eggs or 6 whites* - 6 item
- regular milk or low-fat milk 1% or 2%* - 1 c
How to make cheese cake:
*If you are on a low cholesterol diet use the 6 egg whites instead of the 6 whole eggs and use 1 cup low-fat milk instead of regular milk.In blender or in large mixer bowl beat eggs slightly; add vanilla, 1 can of condensed milk and 1 cup of regular or low-fat milk; gradually put softened cream cheese in pieces and beat until smooth and creamy. Set aside. Prepare caramel by adding 1 tablespoon of water in the pan (round) or top of double boiler and put the sugar and heat until it dissolves and is a gold color. Let it cool for a few minutes and pour the mixture in the sugar. Fill the bottom part of the double boiler with water 1/2 full and bake for 1 hour or until done in 350° oven. Check with toothpick for doneness. Let it cool. Serve with whipped cream if you like it.
