Ingredients/Components
- milk
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 1 c
- cold water - 3 Tbsp
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- chicken broth
- salt and pepper - 1 item
- sliced carrots - 1 c
- poultry seasoning - 1/4 tsp
- diced cooked chicken - 4 c
- celery - 1/2 c
- shredded cheese - 2 c
- peeled, cubed potatoes - 2 c
- chilled butter - 5 Tbsp
How to make cheddar chicken pot pie:
Filling:1 1/2 c. chicken broth2 c. peeled, cubed potatoes1 c. sliced carrots1/2 c. celery1/2 c. chopped onion1/4 c. flour1 1/2 c. milk2 c. shredded cheese4 c. diced cooked chicken1/4 tsp. poultry seasoning salt and pepper Cut butter into flour and salt until resembles cornmeal. Add water gradually; mixing with fork, form ball and chill for 1 hour.For filling, heat broth to a boil; add vegetables. Simmer 10 to 15 minutes. Blend flour with milk, stir into broth mix. Cook and stir over medium heat until slightly thick, stir in cheese and seasonings; heat. Spoon into 3-quart casserole; on floured board, roll crust to fit top of dish. Seal edges, make slits for air.
