- milk - 2 c
- flour - 1/4 c
- butter - 1/4 c
- salt and pepper - 1 item
- onion, chopped - 1 item
- stalks celery, chopped - 2 item
- carrots, sliced - 12 item
- buttered bread crumbs - 1/2 c
- sharp Cheddar cheese - 1/2 lb
How to make carrot casserole:
Cook carrots. Simmer onion and celery in butter. Make white sauce by combining milk and flour; heat until sauce thickens. Add onion and celery to white sauce. Layer carrots and Cheddar cheese in casserole dish. Cover with white sauce. Top with bread crumbs. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.Recipe categories: Carrots, Main dish, Casseroles.
